I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. As a visual artist trained at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam, my work is deeply rooted in a lifelong fascination with history and classical art. The stillness, symbolism, and craftsmanship of the Dutch Golden Age — and the masters who shaped it — form the foundation of my inspiration.
In my still lifes, I translate this heritage into a contemporary visual language. I strip away everything that does not serve the image, allowing simplicity and clarity to take the lead. Through carefully sculpted light, subtle color, and tactile textures, I create scenes where time seems to pause. Each object is given space to breathe, to speak, to resonate.
Every artwork is framed by my own hand. I select or restore each frame — whether new or antique — to complement the character of the piece. No two frames are alike; each one adds its own history, depth, and presence, becoming an essential part of the artwork itself.
My work is an invitation to slow down. To look closer. To rediscover the quiet beauty in everyday forms. By blending historical influence with a modern sensibility, I aim to create images that feel both timeless and serene — still lifes that offer a moment of calm in a world that rarely stands still.
